Let us see how this goes

So, I started this blog because it sounded interesting to me at the time. But, being Mr. A.D.D as my wife calls me, I never returned to add subsequent postings.

Speaking with my son Evan today via Skype on the iPhone (he is in Indonesia as a Teacher, Parent and Husband), he pointed out a new website he had discovered:

http://www.booksneeze.com/reviews

which he then subsequently quietly cajoled me into joining. I do read a lot, encourage my children to do so and have a daughter who reads voraciously (Amazon Kindle anyone?).

So I joined. We shall see how this turns out!

First Post

Welcome to ADD Tech! I truly don't think anyone will ever read this, but I get a ton of ideas and solutions to problems from similar blogs and postings so decided to give back. You will find here my ramblings on the tech problem of the moment and hopefully a solution or two.

I believe in Open Source where ever possible and the use of Linux, love the command line! Grew up on it starting with DOS 6.2 and every conceivable version inbetween and yes, I have a couple of Vista boxes at the house (also Win2k Server, Fedora Core 5/64, WinXP, two G4 laptops, and a great HP NX9420 running Linux)

My current projects include upgrading a VMware 2.5.4 infrastructure to 3.0.2, followed shortly thereafter to 3.5! Never ending challenges. I am also looking at whole drive encryption for my laptop, Truecrypt 5.0 being my choice right now. The laptop is a dual boot KUbuntu distro (7.10) and Windows 'cause you can't get away from it, no matter how hard you try.

Anyway, enough for the first day - something else has got my attention
